*This is a hard one to let go of, but it’s back up. Was never sold.* I have also carefully removed the glue you can see in the pictures on the face of the guitar that was left from a small badge that said “Jerry”.
I acquired this stunning Jan ‘61 P Bass from the original owner’s son who lived in a small town outside of Houston, Texas. His father passed away when he was young so the bass was quite neglected as the son was not a musician. I took it to Well Strung in Long Island for a set up and now it plays wonderfully. The son told me the bass has always had its sparkle finish, though it is obviously too funky to be from '61. As you can see from the neck pocket, the sparkle finish was done as Fender would with the paint stick. Everything functions perfectly and the pickup is as strong as ever. It's a fantastic playing all 1961 P bass. It gives off serious presence while you’re holding it and the bass resonates beautifully unplugged. You will not be disappointed.
Modifications: finish, shielding, strap button, tuner screw.
The brown case is quite tired.
Will be packed safely and insured.
