This is a Do-It-Yourself kit to replace worn, cracked, or broken trigger plate inside Alesis drum pads for Command, Crimson, Surge, or other models that have the same essential set-up. Or, perhaps the pad is triggering inconsistently, but everything appears to be in order? Sometimes new internal component replacement is the answer.
Make sure you measure the plate width to get the correct size. This item is for pads that are 12", which usually take 2 & 6/8" size plates. (For many 8" and 10" pads, the plate is approximately 2 & 3/8" square -- see other listing for smaller size).
The kit includes what is pictured:
- New plate (made from shatter-resistant polycarbonate). The plate in this kit measures 2 & 6/8" square. (If you need smaller 2 & 3/8" size, see other listing. **Any other size, please message me; we can cut to order!**).
- New Goedrum piezo disc, 35mm, pre-wired; with double-backed adhesive to attach to plate.
- Enough foam that can easily be trimmed to make at least five, 1-inch pieces; double-backed adhesive disc pads to affix new foam to plate.
- Extra double-backed adhesive strips to affix new plate back on to mounted area.
- Screw terminals to connect wires without soldering. (Will require use of wire strippers to trim and strip wires; can be purchased online for less than $9.)
(Note: While there are other methods, this DIY approach is intended to maintain close to the design integrity of the original configuration as possible. The fifth photo shows a recent full replacement - foam pieces, plate, piezo disc).
This item ships for free within the continental United States.
