The BETA 58A Supercardioid Vocal Microphone from Shure is designed for close-up vocals and sound reinforcement applications. The 58A produces a true supercardioid pattern across its frequency range to reduce feedback and improve rejection of off-axis sound. In order to ensure a long life, the delicate interior electronics are protected by a die cast metal body, a hardened steel mesh grille and an advanced shock mount system. Whether you’re a singer, podcaster or voiceover artist, the Shure BETA 58A is an ideal microphone to meet your recording needs.

Frequency Response Tailored for Vocals

Everything about the Shure BETA 58A microphone is designed to maximize the sound quality of your voice. It produces a brightened midrange and features bass rolloff to reduce the artificially heightened bass frequencies that can result when your mouth is in close proximity to the microphone. The 58A is also capable of producing a uniform supercardioid pattern across its frequency range. This prevents feedback and improves the mic’s ability to reject off-axis sound. These features result in a natural-sounding reproduction of your voice and recordings that are free of intrusive ambient sounds like street noise and other people’s voices which can spoil an otherwise great take.

Built to Last

The electronic components that allow this Shure mic to record such high-quality audio are delicate and easy to damage. But this mic is designed to take a beating while preventing damage that can affect its performance. The case is made of rugged, die cast metal and features a mesh grille made of hardened steel. These materials resist wear and abuse so drops and impacts won’t affect the mic’s performance. In addition to the protective structural design, the BETA 59A also features a built-in pneumatic shock mount system that protects the electronics from vibrations and minimizes the transmission of mechanical noises that can interfere with your recordings.
