Dr Z Z-Plus Combo, 2021

Here for sale is a nearly new Dr Z Z-Plus in the bigger (and imho better sounding) LT combo cabinet.   In very good to excellent condition, prolly has less than 25 hours play on it.   Used at home only, never gigged.   If you’re looking at this boutique amp, you are probably already somewhat familiar with it!  For more details go to the Dr Z website and check it out.   These list for $2399.

Suffice it to say this is a superb sounding combo amp, lightweight, with reverb, and great tonal control via treble/mid/bass knobs and a cut knob that does wondrous things for dialing in the perfect tone!  The master volume allows you to get just as much distortion as you desire at any volume, and really works superbly.  That and a half power switch cutting the (loud) 15 watts down to 7 watts is killer.  I’ve use it on half power for  5 man band rehearsal, with a finesse drummer, and achieved a perfectly toned volume, around 90-100 dB, keeping me from having to use any kind of hearing protection!!!!!  It’s a thing of beauty.  To my ears, this Z-Plus sounds just about like a ‘58 tweed Deluxe that I sometimes get to gig with, but with better volume control!  And it can get great distortion, even more than that Deluxe!  An easy amp to have be your one and only amp, in my opinion.  Only reason I’m selling it is that I have too much gear, and need some money (who doesn’t?).  I have other amps that cover the same territory.  These Dr Z amps are built like a tank and Z uses only the highest quality components, hand wired.  I’ve owned a whole bunch of different models in my years and they all are great!
