Sandberg California II VS4 in Chrome & Black – Special “Classic and Cool Guitars” Edition number 4

This bass is a bit special. Factory built by Sandberg to my personal specifications, this VS4 has some unique touches which makes it a different, eye-catching one-off.

It’s in Chrome & black, with some parts black and others chrome, but the detailing is quite subtle. For example, the tuners have black keys but chrome screws holding them in place, and is perfectly offset by the special satin black headstock, likewise the bridge is black but the saddles are chrome. This theme continues throughout the bass.

It has also been ordered with Pau Ferro fretboard and abalone front facing dots – the satin black headstock and dots are extra cost options, but really help with the look of the bass.

I accept that it won’t be to everyone’s taste, but I’ve always tried to stock basses that I really like, in the hope that someone else will agree – it’s a policy which has kept me in business for over 14 years.

However, looks are just one part of this bass – the other becomes apparent when you play it: lovely fast neck, low action, it really is easy and rewarding to play. Also, it comes fitted with Sandberg Black label pick up’s These are Sandberg’s own design to give a punchier sound, initially developed with Ida Nielsen.

It’s brand new and comes complete with the Sandberg gig bag, tools and manual.
