The Electro-Harmonix 6CA7 is a big bottle tetrode. This 6CA7 performs great under higher voltages. This 6CA7 has more clean headroom and is great in Hi-Fi amps as well as guitar/bass amps.

Designed to the exacting specifications of the Phillips 6CA7, this classic tetrode returns to life in a big bottle design. The 6CA7EH is built to withstand today's high-gain amps while still retaining the detailed tone and component integrity of the original. A direct replacement, with military reliability, for any EL34.
This classic big bottle 6CA7 is a tetrode rather than a pentode like the EL34. Both tubes are interchangeable but many prefer the rich and detailed sound of a tetrode to a pentode.
These are an excellent choice for Hiwatt and Musicman amps.
