Univox Matsumoko Dove c.1971 Natural

Circa 1971 Univox Dove made in the famed Matsumoku Japan factory, who made some of the best guitars in the world. Serial number 200264 stamped on the inside top bracing near the neck. A TRUE lawsuit guitar with the open-book headstock. Beautiful back and side wood with a very tight-grained   “x-braced” top. The original adjustable height and saddle (for setting intonations) is intact, functioning nicely, and still has the saddle hold-down wire! Split parallelogram neck position markers, neck binding, 7-ply top binding, 5-ply back binding, x-braced top. Original chrome tuning keys that are still holding pitch fine. Some fretwear in the first 4 frets under the “E”, “B”, and “G” strings. 25.5 inch scale with a 1 ¾” nut width. Excellent action-3/16 inch at the 12th fret. Plays and sounds terrific! Plays and sounds beautiful with a huge bass, balanced midrange, and bright treble. Comes in the original hardshell case with one broken latch and no inner lining, but fits the guitar nicely and will protect it.
