AIAIAI UNIT-4 MK2 Wireless Active Studio Monitor Set (Pair, White)

AIAIAI UNIT-4 MK2 Set is a stereo pair of portable, battery-powered 2-way studio monitors, packed with the X04 W+ Link transmitter and a carry case. Plug the X04 into your gear and both speakers play uncompressed wireless audio with 16 ms latency. Both speakers are white.

What Changed in MK2

• Battery-powered X04 transmitter: the original set came with the X02, which runs on USB-C power. The X04 runs on its own battery for 20 hours, so it plugs straight into battery-powered synths, grooveboxes or DJ decks away from a wall socket.
• USB-C charging: the speakers charge over USB-C, where the original model used DC power adapters.
• Travel case: a custom-molded case holds both speakers, the transmitter and the cables.
• White finish: MK2 is the first UNIT-4 offered in white.

AIAIAI kept the sound, the buttons and the 20-hour speaker battery the same as the original UNIT-4.

Sound

UNIT-4 is tuned flat out of the box for music creation and critical listening, with clear, detailed sound and rich bass. With the bass vent and a bass-boosting EQ, clean bass reaches down to 40 Hz. In the AIAIAI app you can choose a predefined sound profile or adjust the 5-band EQ.

Connections

• W+ Link with the X04: connect your source to the X04 by USB-C or 3.5 mm line in, and it sends the audio to both speakers.
• Bluetooth 5.2: stereo playback from any Bluetooth device.
• Cable: 3.5 mm mini-jack and 6.3 mm balanced TRS inputs on each speaker, for a mixer, an audio interface or another audio source.
• Stereo or mono: the Stereo/Mono button sets each speaker to Left, Right or Mono.

Portable

Each speaker is 3 litres in volume and weighs 2.5 kg, and the rear bass vent doubles as a carry handle. A removable steel grille protects the woofer and tweeter. Each speaker also has a 3/8-inch thread for a standard microphone stand.

Designed to Last

UNIT-4 is built without glue and comes apart with two screwdrivers, so the battery, the drive units and other key parts can be replaced. Its main parts are made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic.
