For sale is an early variant of the Tweed Tremolux, the 5E9 in a big box.
The very first Tremoluxes to sport this circuit came in a small cab the sale size as the 5E3 Deluxe. Eventually they moved into a bigger cab about the size of a tweed pro while retaining the same circuit for a short time. Eventually came the 5E9-A and finally the almighty 5G9 circuit. This particular example I believe has to be one of the first big box 5E9 Tremoluxes. I’ve seen small box Tremoluxes in the 400 serial range and this one is in the 500 range.
This one sports its original tweed and grill. Well worn and beautiful in my opinion. Even has its original handle which is rare in itself. Circuit has been updated with new caps and plug. Still retains its original transformers. Original speaker would’ve been a Jensen P12Q but this one sports a modern harness and P12N.
Sounds good! Really gets gritty like a 5E3 which I love!
