Eastman MD605 A-Style Mandolin, 2015 - Classic

Description:

This mandolin is Eastman’s previous generation MD605, which had more understated abalone dot inlays, versus the current standard pearl square blocks. The tuners were replaced with Grover 409s in 2017 (a common upgrade for these, over the stock ping tuners). The cast tailpiece was replaced in 2021 with a new one that Eastman sent me (They have great customer service btw).

This was my primary gigging mandolin until 2022, and a daily player since. It’s opened up with a nicely developed bottom end, has a good setup, and plays really well all the way up the neck. It’s also loud, and cuts great in a jam.

Condition:

Overall, the condition is very good. No cracks or any structural issues. There are a few surface dings, which I’ve attempted to highlight in the photographs as best as possible.

Frets could use a dressing. The mandolin plays great, so I haven’t messed with them.
