Here for sale we have a Gibson Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar in Ebony finish. Made in 1995 in the USA in the famed ‘Good Wood Era’ where Gibson improved both the quality of manufacturing and the instruments they created, Gibson produced what some people arguably would call the best Gibson guitars ever produced. Naturally, this guitar consists of a Mahogany body with a carved Maple top, a Mahogany neck, and a 22-fret Ebony fingerboard. Other appointments include a Tune-o-matic bridge, a Stopbar tailpiece, and Grover tuners. The pickups installed are a set of Gibson 490R/498T humbuckers that are wired to traditional Les Paul controls.
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the ‘Rounded’ profile along with the worn in feel providing a familiar feeling in the hand. The Ebony fingerboard is pleasant to the touch and adds a sense of luxury to the playing experience, along with the traditional 12" radius providing a nice balance between comfortable chording and practicality for lead lines. The Grover tuning machines and ABR-1 Bridge and Stopbar Tailpiece provide rock solid tuning stability, offering a reliable instrument that you can count on.
The Gibson pickups in this guitar offer a full, thick tone, plenty of warmth and roundness is present in the neck position. The middle position sounds punchy, with driving mids along with crisp and clear highs making for a nice blend of the two pickups. The bridge position provides open sustain and broad harmonic clarity, making chords sound crystalline and clear. The Classic Les Paul wiring offers familiar territory and provides plenty of versatility without any complicated switching, making this instrument great for tonal sculpting to the players desired taste. Another perfect example of Gibson proving why the guitars they produced in the ‘Good Wood Era’ are second to none.

Light to moderate scratching is apparent to all aspects of the headstock as is common on a guitar of this age. The most notable scratching can be seen to both side edges consistent with the use of a string winder and surrounding the tuning posts to the front face. Light lacquer cracking can be seen to where the face plate and headstock meet, this is typical for 90's Gibson Models.
Neck: Overall very good condition. A slight gap is present between the frets and fingerboard binding, this is a common occurrence with Gibson guitars of this age and does not effect the playability. Light indentations are present to the rear of the neck across the register, these can be seen under direct light and can be felt lightly in the playing position. Light markings are present to the fingerboard across the register, these can be seen under direct light and can not be felt in the playing position. ''Blooming of the finish is present to the rear of the neck, this is common with nitrocellulose finishes and regular play wear. Light lacquer cracking can be seen to where the fingerboard binding and neck meet, this is typical for 90's Gibson Models.
Body: Overall very good condition. The front face demonstrates mild to moderate scratching and light indentation throughout, most notable to the bass side lower bout, these do not pierce the finish. The side edges of the body display light to mild scratching indentation, the most apparent scratching and indentation is located to the bass side lower bout edge. The binding demonstrates consistent discoloration throughout, with this a chip to the lacquer finish covering the binding is located to the rear face treble side lower bout as is typical for an instrument of this age. The rear of the body displays mild buckle rash, with this light outlines of stickers previously applied are also present to the rear of the body.
Condition of Frets:
The frets demonstrate moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. Denting and flattening of the frets is apparent throughout the register. There is moderate material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.
