PLEASE READ: Channel 1 has an intermittent audio issue. Channel 1 (left) occasionally drops out. It usually recovers with a volume adjustment or a light tap on the input knob or leaving the unit off for a bit. I have not had it repaired, so it is sold as-is and listed as Fair. it seems to be about 4-5 minutes of audio passing through before the issue begins so if you boot the unit up and use channel one right away you can get some time out of it for stereo usages.
Channel 2 works perfectly with zero issues.
Details:
- Phoenix Audio DRS-Q4 Mk2 2-channel Class-A discrete mic pre / DI / EQ with the ZenPro hi-pass mod, popular for stereo mix-bus use
- I bought it used and have hardly used it
- Black knobs, as shown in the photos
- Small holes have been drilled in the top panel, reportedly to help with ventilation. See photos.
- Warm, Neve-flavored saturation with an API-style punch, plus a great EQ that works on just about anything.
Pricing: The price reflects one fully working channel plus one with an intermittent issue. It looks like something a qualified tech could track down and fix, but I haven't diagnosed it, so I can't promise the repair is simple. Even with the issue, it's a solid way to get at least one great-sounding pre/EQ for much less than buying new.
