The Fender American Professional Hot Shot Telecaster Maple in Aged Cherry Burst marks a fresh chapter in Fender's modern professional lineup. You've seen the original American Professional, the American Professional II, and the American Professional Classic. This refreshed American Professional Series makes for a more versatile guitar than your standard Tele by placing a Stratocaster single-coil between the traditional Tele neck and bridge pickups. Five-way switching opens up both classic Tele sounds and glassier Strat-inspired combinations, while the new top-load/string-through bridge with compensated brass saddles adds improved intonation and setup flexibility. Finished in Aged Cherry Burst to show off the Ash wood grain underneath, with a pearloid pickguard and maple fingerboard, this version also stands apart visually from the more traditional Tele configurations.

The ash body is paired with a Deep "C" maple neck featuring rolled fingerboard edges, a 9.5" radius, and Fender's "Super-Natural" satin urethane finish for a smooth, comfortable playing feel. A sculpted neck heel improves access to the upper register, while 22 narrow tall frets provide a familiar balance for chords, bends, and lead work. V-Mod III Telecaster single-coils in the bridge and neck retain the twang, snap, and snarl players expect from a Tele, while the V-Mod III Strat middle pickup and five-way switching greatly expand the available clean and combination sounds.

The three-saddle bridge supports both top-load and string-through setups, giving players another way to tailor string feel and response. ClassicGear compensated brass Bullet saddles improve intonation while retaining the direct attack and familiar character of a brass-saddle Tele bridge. Fender staggered sealed tuners, a bone nut, and Micro-Tilt neck adjustment round out a practical setup for regular gigging and recording. We think the Aged Cherry Burst Hot Shot is an especially strong choice for players who want Tele feel and attitude but need enough tonal range to cover an entire set with one guitar.
