I bought this Royer 121 for live recording sessions, but my work moved in a different direction. I used it only a couple of times, and since then it has stayed safely stored in its case. It deserves to be in front of a guitar cab or a horn section, not in storage. I am now downsizing my mic cabinet.
The Royer R-121 is the mic that brought ribbons back into mainstream studios. It's a go-to for electric guitar cabs, brass, overheads and room sounds, with a smooth top end, natural off-axis response and the ability to take serious SPL.
Condition: Excellent. Used fewer than five times, then stored in its case. The satin nickel finish is clean and the ribbon grille is intact, as the photos show. The mic works exactly as it should.
