Selmer-Paris Henri Selmer Paris Balanced Action alto, serial #24172, circa 1937, silver plate Circa 1937 - Silver plated

Genuine vintage Henri Selmer Paris alto saxophone, serial number 24172, dating to approximately 1937 and from the highly regarded early Balanced Action era.

The saxophone is finished in aged silver plate and retains excellent vintage character, including original-style engraving, pearl key touches, ornate key guards and period detailing. It presents very well for its age, with expected patina, light wear and surface marks consistent with an instrument approaching 90 years old.

It comes with its vintage hard case, neck, mouthpiece/accessories and supporting valuation paperwork. The saxophone was previously assessed by Ellaways Music, North Brisbane Queensland Australia in 2008. I Am in the process of getting it valued to current date.

Serial number and patent markings are clearly visible and match the accompanying paperwork.

I have not attempted to heavily polish or restore the instrument, as the original patina and finish may be preferable to collectors. A buyer is welcome to inspect the instrument and have it assessed by a specialist saxophone technician.

This is a genuine collector-grade vintage Selmer rather than a modern student or intermediate instrument. Early Balanced Action Selmers are sought after by players and collectors internationally.
