VTB-1 Treble Booster
Few guitar sounds are as unmistakable as a Vox AC30 pushed into its sweet spot by a vintage British Treble Booster The VTB-1 recreates that sound in a modern and stable design
Vintage Character Modern Stability
Classic Treble Boosters used Germanium transistors known for nonlinear response but also for temperature sensitivity inconsistent performance and noise
The VTB-1 uses a Silicon design engineered to emulate the nonlinear behavior of Germanium while improving stability and reducing noise
At the center of the VTB-1 is a hand selected Silver Can BC109 transistor chosen for consistent performance low noise and vintage response Thin film resistors further reduce noise
Key Features
- Faithfully recreated vintage Treble Booster voice
- Silicon design that emulates Germanium nonlinear behavior
- Single transistor gain stage
- Targeted biasing for expanded sweet spot and volume knob cleanup
- Hand selected Silver Can BC109 transistor
- Fat Switch for expanded boosted frequency range
- Low noise performance
- Compact rugged vintage style enclosure
- Compatible with modern pedalboard power supplies
The Sound And Feel Of The Originals
The VTB-1 maintains the simplicity of the original single transistor design while providing more consistent performance
The custom bias circuit places the BC109 in its ideal operating range for edge of breakup response
Rolling back the guitar volume produces clean chimey tones while increasing the Boost control pushes the amplifier into harmonically rich overdrive
Authenticity Meets Flexibility
The Fat Switch expands the frequency boost range for different guitars and playing styles from vintage attack to thicker modern tones
The VTB-1 is engineered for low noise operation even at high gain settings
The Perfect Partner For Vox Amplifiers
Paired with Vox AC30 or AC15 amplifiers the VTB-1 produces harmonically rich overdrive and touch sensitive response associated with classic British rock tones
Iconic Tone Within Reach
