Here’s a pretty wild one for you...

This is an original 1948-49 Gibson LG2 that appears to have been factory refinished/restored in 1966/67.

The FON is a little vague but definitely is in the 2000’s which would place it in the late 40’s. It has the classic X bracing and fat 40’s neck. I am assuming it was sent back in the mid 60’s which is where it received a new fretboard (with trapezoid inlays), full refinish, as well as the adjustable bridge setup that was being used at that time. The sunburst is dead on for 66/67 period, as well as the ADJ bridge just mentioned. The tuners are not original but you can see the footprint for the old tuners which are strange ones you see on some 66/67 acoustics and melody makers.

The guitar appears to have been sparingly played since. There are a few small cracks (one on front and a couple on the backs) but overall the guitar is in good to very good condition. Action is super low and very comfortable and the frets are in excellent shape. Its an easy playing instrument that is aesthetically different from any other LG2 you’ll find, and likely the only one you’ll ever see with these specs.

It Includes the Gibson soft case shown which I believe came back with it after the factory restoration and another indicator of it being sent back in the mid 60’s for some work.
