Rare Gibson-branded USA made THD Hotplate at the 8 ohm impedance. It's suited to go between your amp and an 8 ohm rated cab, or use both outputs with two 16 ohm cabs for an 8 ohm (parallel) load. I'm only selling because I'm using two 8 ohm cabs.. I have the red THD 4 ohm hotplate for that. Unlike that one this Gibson version has a balanced line out in addition to the unbalanced line out.

The left knob selects level of attenuation and the right knob fine-tunes the -16 dB option for bedroom volumes. The red light at the center is a visual of the attenuation taking place. It also has very useful treble and bass boost switches in case the attenuation accents the mids too much. I only used it to get the cleans of my Bassman style amp closer to breakup so that there wasn't a huge volume jump when I engaged my dirt pedals. It worked perfectly for that but it's more commonly used to get those great overdriven tube amp tones at manageable volumes. Also if you've never played a Mesa Rectifier with the Master/Loop bypassed, do so with this for awesome tones that save your ears and the peace of the neighborhood.

The cosmetic condition is near mint and it has really low miles on it... not that it matters since they're so robust. The underside fan and all functions are powered by your amplifier.
