[Martin D-18 Satin Amberburst]

A special version of Martin's iconic "D-18" dreadnought, featuring a striking Amberburst finish and a satin texture.

The D-18 is truly one of Martin's signature models; it has supported countless legendary performances throughout the company's long history and remains beloved by players worldwide to this day.

Its traditional wood combination—a spruce top paired with genuine mahogany back and sides—delivers the distinctive charm of the D-18. Unlike rosewood models, it offers a quick response, clear sound definition, a solid midrange, and the rich low-end characteristic of a dreadnought. It delivers a powerful, open sound when strummed and captures even the most delicate nuances during fingerpicking.

What elevates this model to something truly special is the "Amberburst" finish applied to the top. The finish features a gradient that highlights the spruce grain—bright at the center and deepening toward the edges—creating a rich, evocative look reminiscent of a vintage guitar that has aged over many years. It is striking at first glance without being overly ornate, adding a touch of exquisite allure to the D-18’s traditionally robust and honest character.

In terms of sound, the instrument utilizes forward-shifted, scalloped X-bracing.

This bracing design efficiently maximizes top vibration, delivering the powerful projection and rich volume characteristic of the D-18. It responds delicately to a light touch while fully translating the energy of a strong attack into sound. The notes bloom instantly from the first stroke of the pick, and strumming chords produces a wide soundstage with a powerful low-end presence.

The clarity in the mid-range—a hallmark of the mahogany body—pairs exceptionally well with vocals. It maintains a strong presence without overpowering the singer during solo performances, while offering a solid, defined tone that cuts through clearly in band or ensemble settings.

The neck features a "Modified Low Oval" profile with a "High-Performance Taper."

It preserves the traditional Martin feel while offering modern playability suited to contemporary performance needs. The 1 3/4-inch nut width strikes a perfect balance, providing ample room for fingerstyle playing without feeling excessively wide. It accommodates a wide range of playing styles, from chord work to soloing.

The ebony fingerboard is adorned with "Old Style 18" inlays, adding a subtle shimmer of abalone. Classic "Style 18" aesthetic touches—such as black binding, a tortoise-pattern pickguard, and a multi-stripe rosette—further enhance its refined appeal.

The headstock features an East Indian Rosewood overlay and displays the Martin logo in the "Script Old Style" typeface. The combination of nickel open-gear tuners and "Butterbean" knobs harmonizes beautifully with the vintage-inspired vibe of the Amberburst finish.

From the feel the moment you pick it up to the response when you strum a chord, and the way the tone deepens the more you play it—this is an instrument that allows you to craft your own unique sound and history while savoring every aspect of the experience.

While rooted in the solid tradition of the "D-18," the D-18 Satin Amberburst boasts a distinctive visual character all its own.

We highly recommend this model to anyone looking for a lifelong musical companion, or to those who want to enjoy that classic Martin dreadnought sound without compromise.

The pride of ownership and the joy of playing—

This captivating D-18 delivers both at an exceptional level.
