USED Fender Standard Telecaster MIM Sunburst 2015 Electric Guitar w/Gig Bag
Born as the Esquire and Broadcaster in 1950 and renamed the Telecaster in 1951, Fender’s workhorse was the first commercially successful solid body electric guitar, and the basic design has endured largely unchanged for more than 75 years. Fender began building guitars in Ensenada, Mexico in 1987, and the Mexican-made Standard Telecaster went on to become one of the most popular Teles ever built before giving way to the Player Series in 2018. This pristine 2015 example sticks close to the original formula with a few smart updates, including a six-saddle string-through-body bridge for precise intonation, a top-adjust truss rod, a flatter 9.5" fingerboard radius, and medium jumbo frets. The 21-fret Modern "C" maple neck is Fender’s familiar slim C profile and measures approximately .830" at the 1st fret and .870" at the 12th.
The Standard Single-Coil Tele pickups of this era use ceramic bar magnets with steel pole pieces rather than the alnico rod magnets found in vintage units. Traditionalists may raise an eyebrow, but this construction delivers a slightly thicker, punchier voice. All the classic Tele flavors are still there: the neck pickup sounds open and less compressed, while the bridge pickup has plenty of twang with fuller mids and none of the icy top end. Forget how they’re made and you’ll simply hear a great set of pickups.
Long on value and short on price, this Standard Telecaster is a big step up for beginners, a solid first guitar, or a flat-out bargain for anyone after genuine Tele character for short money.
Excellent condition with no wear, chips, dents, or dings and very little playing time. There is just a touch of light scuffing on the pickguard. Includes a gig bag, our professional setup, and our setup checklist.
