***2016 Gibson Flying V Model T Pro***
Hand-Aged | DiMarzio Super Distortion + D Activator | 50s Wiring
Please read the description and look carefully at the pictures before buying.
I've owned this guitar since new in 2016 and it has been part of my personal collection for over 10 years.
This is not a guitar for someone looking for a pristine or completely original Gibson. I've owned it since new in 2016, and over the years it has been played, gigged, aged and tweaked by me, mainly with a focus on sound and playability.
A good part of the wear you see is simply natural wear from years of playing and live use. Some of the ageing was also done intentionally by me along the way, so what you see today is really a combination of both — natural road wear and some personal ageing and tweaks.
It's a guitar that's been played and used as a guitar should be, not kept in a case for ten years. The neck and edges have been worked to give the guitar a smoother, more broken-in feel. It's extremely comfortable to play and has that soft, played-in feeling that I personally like in older and aged guitars.
Pickups:
- DiMarzio Super Distortion – bridge
- DiMarzio D Activator – neck
The electronics have also been upgraded with 50s-style wiring, copper grounding/bus work and an upgraded capacitor.
The result is a very lively and responsive guitar. It sounds great for rock, classic heavy metal and hard rock, but it also works surprisingly well for blues and lower-gain sounds.
The ageing and wear you see in the pictures are part of the guitar. I'm not trying to present it as factory ageing or natural vintage wear. Please look carefully at all the photos so you know exactly what you're buying.
The guitar is in excellent playing condition.
I'm only selling it because we're reorganising and renovating our workshop and making space for other guitars. Otherwise, this one would stay in my collection.
It does not include a hard case. It will be supplied with a gig bag and properly packed in a secure guitar shipping box.
Shipping will be via DHL, fully insured through to delivery.
I'm not particularly interested in selling this guitar to someone who simply wants the cheapest Flying V they can find. I'd much rather it went to somebody who appreciates aged guitars and understands the work that has gone into making this one feel and play the way it does.
If you're seriously interested, please send me a message. I'm happy to answer questions about the guitar, its history or the modifications.
It's an amazing Gibson Flying V, I've had it for more than 10 years, and I'll genuinely be sorry to see it go.
