Vintage 1934-1947 Gibson A-50 Mandolin!

Made In USA!

This is really Cool. You are looking at a Vintage 1934-1947 Gibson A-50 Mandolin. Features a carved solid spruce top, carved maple back and sides, Rosewood Fingerboard, a teardrop A-style body with f-holes, and a traditional sunburst finish. These instruments are known for a dry, woody, and punchy "prewar" acoustic tone that projects well for folk, old-time, and bluegrass music. Gibson mandolins are the standard of the industry.

There is not any soundhole labels, Serial Numbers, Fon Numbers or any other markings I could find. This Mando has the Pre-WW2 Pearl Script Logo. It also has "The Gibson" logo on the Tailpiece. (See picture #11). I really feel that this is a 1937 from the research I have done on the internet. But definitely a 1934-1947.

Our Luthier did a complete setup and installed new strings. The Mando is very playable and has a great tone with the aged wood.

Cosmetics: Very Good Condition. Keep in mind that this is a 90 year old+ Mandolin that has been played. Lacquer Checking on Both sides of the body. Some light strumming scratches on the pickguard. A few small pencil point dings on the Top. The Back has some light marks from being held next to the player's body. Neck, Fingerboard and Headstock in great shape. Vintage case has some scuffs, scratches and minor tears in the tolex. All latches work. Overall, a very solid Mandolin in Very Good Condition.
