Universal Audio 1176LN Classic Limiting Amplifier – 2013

Universal Audio 1176LN Classic Limiting Amplifier in good working condition. Manufactured February 2013, serial number 5998.

This is Universal Audio’s hardware recreation of the classic blackface 1176LN FET compressor/limiter, featuring the familiar Input and Output controls, continuously variable Attack and Release, selectable 4:1, 8:1, 12:1 and 20:1 ratios, and switchable gain-reduction/output metering.

This unit has been used professionally in my studio and has performed reliably. It is being sold as part of a reduction in my studio equipment inventory.

Cosmetically, the front panel presents well overall with normal signs of professional rack use, including minor marks and wear. The metal chassis shows visible oxidation/discolouration and general cosmetic aging, as shown clearly in the photographs. This is cosmetic and has been left as-is rather than refinished or altered.

Rear panel provides balanced XLR input/output as well as the original terminal-strip connections and meter-link connection. Voltage is currently set for 115V operation.
