The pickup has been upgraded to a Curtis Novak H22 Gold Foil (a $175.00 value). The Curtis Novak H22 is a replica of the gold foil pickups used on the old Harmony H22 basses (and other Harmony bass models) and are known for their warm, punchy sound and high output. According to Mr. Novak, "This is my vintage correct version of the classic Harmony H22 bass pickup. I went to painstaking detail to get this one right. The dimensions and contours of metal parts are spot on, as is the magnet, the coil and best of all is the tone."

Sonically this bass sounds similar to a Precision bass but with a less nasal, more rounded tone and a bit more growl. The tone knob provides a considerable amount of tonal variation. The bass is very comfortable to play; it has a solid, high-quality feel. Nice low action. Neck is straight. There are no issues with this bass. And it looks terrific.
