Northwest Vintage Guitars presents a wonderfully restored 1974 Guild D55 Made in the USA at the Westerly Rhode Island factory.  These are Guild's top of the line acoustic offering that could only be special ordered.  Guild used their best select solid woods and employed only their most skilled luthiers in the construction of these gems.   They are quite a showpiece with AAA grade solid Sitka Spruce tops, the best solid Indian Rosewood back and sides, an Ebony bridge, and a Mahogany neck with a bound Ebony fretboard.  Fantastic Art Deco inspired fret marker inlays and Grover Rotomatic tuners.  25 5/8" scale, 20" radius, 5.31 lbs.  This one underwent an extensive restoration by our Master Luthier.  New binding was applied to the neck, a fresh re-fret, some capo dent fills, and a full level, dress and polish.  Comes safely packed and fully insured in the original hard case in the photos.

The nut measures 1.70", neck depth is .82"- .90" at the 1st and 10th frets respectively.  It's a flat C profile that's real comfy in the hand. Freshly strung with D'Addario 12-53 Bronze strings and 5/64"-3.5/64" action.  The E and A strings are a few cents sharp at the 12th - this can be rectified with heavier guage strings.  The neck is straight, the truss rod turns in both directions, and the relief is currently set for optimum playability.   The new frets are level and polished and the fretboard is clean and conditioned.  There are a few scratches and dings as pictured.  It remains in excellent playable condition with no dead spots.
