Up for sale, a 2024 Gibson Custom Shop 1957 Les Paul Special P-90/Humbucker Murphy Lab Heavy Aged in like-new condition, complete with the original ‘alligator’ hardshell case, CoA, and case candy. This custom spec’d Heavy Aged Murphy Lab Les Paul Special is one of only a handful produced with a P-90/Humbucker configuration, and ostensibly the only one finished in Walnut.

Gibson’s Custom Shop Murphy Lab represents the peak of Gibson craftsmanship: from laser-scanned dimensions to chemically-recreated plastics to meticulously color-matched finishes, every element of a 1957 Les Paul Special has been rendered in unbelievable detail. Weighing 8lbs 4oz, tonewoods include mahogany body and neck construction with a ‘50s Rounded C neck profile carve capped by a dark Indian rosewood fingerboard.

This Les Paul Special has a lively and pronounced voice when strummed unplugged, with bark in the low end, and sparkling, round-sounding plain strings that deliver plenty of zing and also a richness that makes lead lines cut through with great clarity and body. The pickups perfectly marry the raw, gritty bite of a classic P-90 with the rich, articulate power of a Custombucker PAF humbucker. The result is a guitar that can cover an astonishing amount of tonal ground.
