The three-pickup, cherry sunburst Les Paul Custom made iconic by Ace Frehley, KISS's original lead guitarist, and his legendary 1977 Budokan shows.

This 2003 example was built not as an artist signature model but as a limited line from Gibson's top-tier Custom Art / Historic Division: the 1968 Les Paul Custom 3 Pickups, a rarely seen high-end piece. Finished in Heritage Cherry Sunburst.

The model was offered with both plain and flame tops; this one features a gorgeous flame maple top whose figure shifts with the viewing angle.

Loaded with open-white DiMarzio pickups, Ace's trademark, giving the tight response under gain and cutting vintage hard-rock edge. The warm, full resonance of mahogany is the foundation, yet the core of the note stays intact, and notes remain clearly defined even with high-gain, sustaining drive.

The three-pickup layout offers a wide range of tones, making it practical for sessions and recording as well as visually striking.
