A 2023 1962 Stratocaster Heavy Relic CAR/3TS (Aged Candy Apple Red / 3-Tone Sunburst) has arrived.

This guitar features a multi-layer finish with Candy Apple Red applied over the sunburst.

While a multi-layer finish is rare in itself, a multi-layer Candy Apple Red finish is an even rarer combination.

Since this is a Heavy Relic model, it’s difficult to pinpoint exactly where the relic effects were added later; however, there are several buckle scratches on the body back that clearly aren’t part of the relic treatment.

There is also some paint chipping on the back of the neck near the headstock.

That said, these marks actually complement the relic finish and further enhance the guitar’s character.

The frets show slight signs of wear; however, in contrast to the damage on the back of the body, the wear is minimal—even the most heavily worn area is at about 90% of its original condition. It’s not just still playable… it’s in excellent condition for you to really put it through its paces.

The electronics are free of crackling or other issues, so you can use it with confidence.

Furthermore, it features Vintage Modified Wiring #2, which not only allows the tone control to affect the bridge pickup independently but also incorporates capacitors that provide a shallower tone response compared to the neck and middle pickups.

This enables more precise and nuanced tone control over the bridge pickup’s sound.

The volume control is equipped with a high-pass filter, allowing you to balance the volume reduction across the low to high frequencies, enabling a wide range of expressive playing styles in conjunction with your picking technique.

The guitar is equipped with a Hand-Wound 60/63 Strat pickup featuring Alnico 5 magnets.

This particular pickup delivers a sparkling brilliance and high-resolution low end.

The fingerboard features jumbo frets combined with a 9.5” radius.

The neck grain is straight-grained.

The neck shape features the 60s Oval “C,” which is the thinnest profile among vintage-style neck grips and remains highly popular.

Finished in a deep Candy Apple Red, the guitar boasts a sleek, refined look, while the glimpses of the gold base coat and the sunburst gradient create a truly luxurious feel!
