PRS McCarty Wood Library, Dark Cherry Sunburst, Artist Flame Maple (S/N 0433030)

This is a Wood Library McCarty with an Artist Flame Maple top in Dark Cherry Sunburst over a mahogany back. The neck is mahogany with a Pattern profile and a 25" scale length, and the headstock has an East Indian Rosewood veneer. The J-Bird inlays are Paua. It has a PRS Stoptail with Brass Inserts and hybrid hardware, with ivory pickup rings, switch tip and tuner buttons that contrast with the dark sunburst.

The Pattern carve feels substantial and confident in the hand and suits the McCarty’s vintage-leaning character. The covered McCarty III pickups are articulate and dynamic, with a volume control, push/pull tone and a 3-way toggle, so the push/pull adds more sounds without extra switches. It comes with a PRS D1 molded hardshell case.

The guitar has a custom Jack Gretz/Northeast Music Center anniversary truss rod cover. Jack Gretz has spent 30 years selling PRS guitars and Northeast Music Center has spent 15 years representing PRS, working with Core guitars, limited editions, special runs, Wood Library instruments and Private Stock creations. The seller says a good Wood Library guitar should make sense as a whole, from the wood combination and neck carve to the pickups, hardware and finish, and presents this one as an example.
