Offered here is a beautiful 2010 Epiphone Viola Bass in Vintage Sunburst, serial number 1004200802, in excellent overall condition.

Inspired by the classic violin-shaped basses associated with the British Invasion era, the Epiphone Viola combines its distinctive hollowbody design with a comfortable 30.5" short scale, set maple neck, dual mini-humbucking bass pickups and a floating rosewood bridge. The laminated maple body features an attractive flamed maple top, particularly visible beneath the Vintage Sunburst finish. Period specifications for the model also include a rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets and separate neck and bridge volume controls with a master tone control.

The bass presents in excellent overall condition, particularly considering its age. The Vintage Sunburst finish remains vibrant and the flame figure across the top and back shows beautifully. There are only minor signs of normal handling and use under close inspection, including a small finish chip along the rear edge of the headstock, visible in the photos (see last pic). Nothing we observed affects the instrument structurally or functionally.

The instrument retains the classic Viola Bass configuration with its floating rosewood bridge and compensated wooden saddle, Viola-style tailpiece, chrome hardware, dual covered mini-humbucking pickups and three-control layout. The vintage-inspired clipped Dovewing headstock, multi-ply binding and gold control plate complete the distinctive appearance.

The bass will receive a professional setup prior to shipment so it arrives ready to play.
