In cosmetically Excellent condition! Functionally in "Very Good" condition. The FX knob work fine when turned slowly, but if you are in a hurry it can jump in parameter selection. There is a YouTube that shows how to use a switch contact spray to clean the FX knob's contacts which solves this issue.

This was not a problem for me as I use external analog pedals when needed and never directly used the built-in FX, but the Library of FX combinations works fine as designed when any of the FX are called-up by one of the presets.

Everything else still works great. One knob was replaced by previous owner, as was Grill Cloth (decent job, edge pull could be little tighter). All the knobs still automatically turn per preset program!

Includes power cable and 4-Button foot switch as pictured.

- What follows are excerpts from Reviews and Overviews of the original 2001 Fender Cyber-Twin (a revised "SE" model was later released in 2005).

Design: A hybrid stereo amplifier combining a digital control/effects brain with a physical tube analog preamp (using 12AX7 tubes) a number of ToneStacks that were carefully engineered as separate circuits modeled after their original designs behavior, and a solid-state Stereo power amp. The "Control Brain" allows for the various components to be configured in a variety of combinations.

Power: Delivers 130 watts total via a stereo 2 x 65-watt configuration into dual 12-inch speakers (Celestion G12T-100).

Key Features:

  • Motorized physical knobs that physically rotate and snap into place when recalling factory or user presets. [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • Comes with 35 vintage Fender tube amp presets, 85 Custom Shop presets, and 85 fully rewritable and customizable user slots.
  • Relays and FET's are used by the "Control Brain" to reconfigure the placement of each of the ToneStacks and Pre-amps. Fender designed separate implementations of Tweed, Blackface, DynaTouch, as well as "British" (Vox AC30 ), "NeoBritish" (Marshal), and "Modern" (Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier). They then built upon them alternate configurations to produce the sound and behavior of other amps.
  • Outside the ToneStack there is a FX section implemented via DSP. So the onboard FX are Digital, the Tube PreAmp is Analog, the ToneStacks' behaviors are modeled from Fender designs (instead of being DSP emulated) and the Stereo 130W Power Amp section is Solid State (65W per side). This was all new at the time and many/most sales people didn't grasp the design. They got it wrong, called it a "Modeling Amp" just assuming the DSP provided "Amp Modeling" and Effects (via emulation) like so many of the then current day competition (like Line 6). The configuration of mixing all the variables is done by digital control, but in a very "Chase Bliss Audio" way, in that the Analog signal path components all stay Analog but uses a "Digital Brain" to manage the configuration.

General Critical Consensus

  • Reviewers and players praise its pristine Fender clean tones, quiet operation on stereo chorus presets, and deep routing capabilities that let users mix and match virtual tone stacks and speaker setups.
  • Noted Artist who performed and recorded using the Cyber Twin include Steve Winwood, and Peter Green. Buddy Guy used and toured with both the original Cyber Twin beginning in 2001 and then later with the SE version once it was released in 2005.
