The Taylor Academy 12e-N makes the nylon-string experience feel remarkably approachable, combining the warmth and expressiveness of a classical-style guitar with the comfort and familiarity Taylor players have come to expect. Its compact Grand Concert body sits naturally against you, making it easy to settle in for a long practice session, work through new fingerstyle ideas, or simply play for the enjoyment of it. There is an inviting, relaxed quality to this guitar that makes you want to keep picking it up.

The solid torrefied spruce top brings a warm, already-opened-up character to the instrument, with a sweet response that rewards a lighter touch while still offering plenty of presence when you dig in. Layered walnut back and sides add definition and a woody depth underneath the nylon strings, giving the guitar a balanced voice that works beautifully for everything from traditional fingerstyle to contemporary acoustic playing. The wider 1.875" nut gives your fingers room to work, while Taylor's carved armrest makes the playing experience even more comfortable.

When it is time to plug in, the ES-B electronics preserve the natural character of the nylon-string voice while adding a built-in tuner for convenient everyday use. The thin varnish finish keeps the guitar feeling lively and resonant, and the included lightweight gig bag makes it easy to take wherever your playing leads. Whether you're completely new to nylon strings or simply looking for a comfortable, expressive instrument with a fresh feel, the Academy 12e-N is an easy guitar to fall in love with.
