This tuba has been professionally serviced and cleaned. Despite its well-loved appearance, it is squeaky clean inside and out.

The valves work smoothly and have good compression. The slides all move. The third valve slide is somewhat stiff to get in and out -keep it well greased and use firm steady pressure.

The cosmetic condition is what you see in the photos: lacquered brass finish is mostly gone, bell interior stripped of lacquer, small dents and dings, and evidence of prior repairs.

The compensating valve system allows this tuba to play very well in tune with a big sound.
