The Martin O’ahu K-42 Hibiscus feels like a piece of Martin history brought back to life with a fresh perspective. Its K-sized 12-fret body draws from the historic Kealakai design, but the unusual 14-fret neck pushes the concept forward, giving this guitar a little more projection and clarity while preserving the deep, powerful character that helped inspire the modern Dreadnought. The broad-flamed koa back and sides add warmth, richness and visual depth, creating a voice that feels equally at home with delicate fingerstyle or full-bodied strumming.

Then there's the reclaimed spruce top, finished in a dark toasted burst, which gives the K-42 Hibiscus an unmistakably seasoned personality. Every detail feels intentional, from the ornate hibiscus inlays and Madagascar rosewood binding to the refined Style 42 appointments and Waverly tuners with Liquidmetal posts. It's the kind of guitar that rewards you before you even play a note, but once you do, the combination of clarity, resonance and rich harmonic color makes it clear that this is far more than a beautiful collector's piece.

Limited to just 100 instruments, the O’ahu K-42 Hibiscus is a rare meeting of Martin craftsmanship, Hawaiian-inspired history and modern innovation. It has the presence to stop you in your tracks and the voice to keep you coming back to it, whether you're exploring intricate melodies or letting broad chords ring across the room. For the player or collector looking for something genuinely special, this limited-edition Martin is an extraordinary instrument with a story all its own. Available now at Haggerty's Music.
