It seems too good to be true, but I assure you it isn’t: this guitar sounds and plays as good as it looks! This is an exclusive M2M R8 from Gibson’s “Hand Selected” program, where representatives from Japan’s biggest Gibson dealers would come to Nashville to select the wood used for their custom shop orders (the successor to the famed "Yamano Gibsons"). This meant the best of the best tops were used, with unique specs you won’t often find.

Right off the bat, you’ll notice the rare antique natural flame maple top that wouldn’t look out of place on an R9. The natural finish lets the wood speak for itself, with gorgeous, tight wavy flames across the whole top. This is complimented by a beautiful mahogany body (lightweight spec), mahogany neck, and rosewood board.

The vintage appointments work together to create a really special instrument. Hide glue neck/fingerboard construction, nylon nut, ABR-1 and Kluson Deluxe tuners contribute to the tone. Tortoiseshell side dots, gold top hat knobs with the thumb slicers, and aged nickel hardware lend a timeless look. The nut and fretwork are impeccable, with some of the best tuning stability you can get from a Les Paul.

The pickups are a highlight of this build, it has the rare “E-Bucker” set, underwound Custombuckers you could only get through a dealer special order guitar. They really breathe and do the fat tele thing!

Excellent condition, comes with the original pink plush Lifton hard case, all the COAs/case candy, and a black switch cavity cover. 9lb 2oz on my scale.

Wear (more pictures available on request, descriptions are to the best of my ability):

• Plastic jack plate is lightly warped outwards
• Some wear on the top edge of the headstock
• Lacquer hairline mark on the treble side of the nut
• Split seam on one side of the hardshell case (surface level)
• Note: the mark on the top next to the switch is under the finish from the wood itself
