Martin’s X-bracing on the underside helps enhance these projective qualities even further, ensuring that your fretwork won’t get lost in the mix. The D-13E also employs luxurious black walnut at the back and sides, imparting a beautiful aesthetic along with a much darker, deeper-sounding resonance compared to models with traditional sapele tonewoods.

Onboard Martin E1 electronics let you quickly connect to your favorite acoustic amp, recording interface, or even house PA systems at venues. Musicians at Sweetwater are impressed with the E1 system’s tone, volume, and phase-reverse controls, which allow you to faithfully amplify your instrument’s richness and warmth while shaping sound quality to your taste. The E1’s phase-reverse button is especially convenient for eliminating prickly feedback in tight spaces when standing near your amp is unavoidable.
