Description of DRM:
Made in the former East Germany and released in 1987, the Vermona-badged DRM (Digital Rhythm Machine) provided a locally manufactured and affordable high quality MIDI-equipped drum machine for musicians performing and recording in the Eastern Bloc countries (East Germany, the former Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria and others).
The Vermona DRM features twelve drum and percussion instruments (including Bass Drum, 2 x Snare Drum, 3 x Toms, Cowbell, Claves, Cymbal, Clap, and Open/Closed Hi-hats), along with sixteen Preset rhythm patterns and 10 user-programmable (Real Time and Step Write) stored memories. An effects control section provides options for Solo, Fill-In, Flam and Accent insertion.
The DRM also has stereo (Left/Right+ Mono) outputs, Headphone jack, a Trigger jack, four jacks for foot-switch control, MIDI IN/OUT sockets, and a 30-pin socket strip providing Trigger In/Out for the individual instruments and other selected features.
This English language user manual describes the functions and controls of the DRM, enhanced with diagrams and photographs of the control panel and rear connections. The complete service notes and original circuit diagrams of the unit are also provided at the rear of the publication.
