The Ensoniq HALO was released by gE-MU ENSONIQh?formed after Ensoniq was acquired by Creative Technology and merged with its subsidiary E-mu Systems?and is likely the last synthesizer released under the Ensoniq brand.

It incorporates ENSONIQfs high-quality PCM sounds into the E-MU PROTEUS 2000 system and features a wide variety of presets.
It supports expansion of the PROTEUS 2000fs sound ROM and, with its lightweight body, real-time controllers, and arpeggiator/groove functions, offers the usability to be immediately effective in live performances, making it a versatile synthesizer capable of supporting production and performance across a wide range of genres with a single unit.
