Steinberger GM5T 1987-88 Newburgh USA RED w/Transtrem System

ITEM DESCRIPTION: This 1987-88 Steinberger Transtrem-equipped GM5T Newburgh USA built guitar is a very nice example of Ned's Version 1 design. I have owned a few Steinberger axes over the years and I have always found the GM5T to be an excellent all round instrument. At nearly 40 years old, this guitar does show signs of wear and use. However, there is nothing egregious or brutal; just good playwear. This axe weighs in at 7 lbs. 9.5oz. The neck is in excellent condition with plenty of fret-life remaining and all the electronics function as per Ned's design, with a larger toggle installed for easier control during live situations. I had the axe setup about 3 years back and haven't put more than a few hours on it since. Strap locks have been added and a easy access battery compartment installed on the rear. This way one doesn't need to completely remove the cavity plate when tending to the battery. The case has a little wear and there is pictured the most obvious cosmetic ding; about the size of a fingernail arch and on the under-side near the input jack. All in all, if one is looking for a Newburgh Era Steinberger GM5T, then this is a solid choice. Axe will be boxed up tight to insure safe transit during shipping.
