These British made jewel are a bit less know than their more expensive and famous cousin , the Mullard. But can be considered as the best British made Mullard alternative at nicer price but with an outstanding quality and sound.

Very true to the source, slightly less colored than the Mullard so perfect for high end Hifi or or in Mastering studio gear.

Warm sound with extended frequency range, some people would describe with a lot of air and and very present and details mid. Excellent at reproducing human voice with delicacy and details.

Excellent sounding e88cc type tube very realistic and highly musical.

The Jackson 648. It is definitely one of my favorite tube testers. While it does not employ a mutual conductance test circuit, it does use an advanced emission circuit that applies separate element voltages to each tube element, and separate load circuits are also used. “These voltages and loads have been carefully selected for each tube to meet most ideally the normal operating condition of the tube.” (Source: 1950 Jackson catalog.)
