Vintage 1980's Westone Thunder I Custom Passive Bass

Made in Matsumoku Japan

It's a very rare version of the Thunder Bass, featuring a bridge pickup and a "monkey grip" cut on the body, which works very well as a thumb rest.

There are two cracks on the neck near the nut (see pics) but it seems to have been glued in place and it's not presenting any issues.

The neck pickup wasn't working properly when I got it, it was really weak and I replaced it with a Wilkinson Alnico Pbass pickup.

There are prenty of scratches and wear but it plays well and it's a great sounding bass.

3 piece maple neck with a roswood fingerboard. Brass nut.
