The Case...
This guitar comes in an era-correct Generation 4 Chainsaw case. All the latches are present and functioning and the Gibson case badge is still present. This is the less padded version that was the very last iteration before the chainsaw case was discontinued. It shows scratches and regular wear and tear for its age.

The Guitar!
These are a hidden gem! A Sleeping Cult Classic for sure - most people don't even know about the existence of these 86/87 Melody Makers. These are a reissue of the original single cut '59 melody maker, but with 3 major improvements. Mini Grover Tuners, Humbucker Pickup and an ABR-1 Bridge/Tailpiece set up. 

This one is extra special due to the fact that it actually has an Ebony fretboard whereas most had rosewood. This gives this example a great blacked-out vibe and makes it play incredibly smooth!

This is a player's grade example. There are nicks, dings and scratches all over as well as sticker shadows. The most noticeable dent is on the cutaway horn. It appears to be all original except for replaced speed knobs. There is minor scratchiness in the pots as well as some fretwear in the cowboy chord areas. Truss rod is in great shape and the neck is straight. Please study the video and photos carefully so you know what to expect upon delivery!  The pickup is microphonic, but sounds great!

Conclusion
This guitar is a keeper - you're going to love it. Simply, but highly effective!
