Vintage 1960s Klira Triumphator Electric Guitar - Red Vinyl - Fully Serviced - Pro Setup 1.9mm
Up for sale is a stunning piece of German guitar history: a 1960s Klira Triumphator in a striking and rare red "alligator" textured vinyl finish.
While many vintage European guitars from this era are relegated to being "wall hangers" due to high action and warped necks, this specific Klira is a player’s dream.
Maintenance & Playability
This guitar has just undergone a full professional service. It has been deeply cleaned, the fretboard has been conditioned, and all hardware has been inspected. It comes equipped with a fresh set of high-quality strings. The setup is exceptional, with a professional string action of just 1.9mm, making it incredibly comfortable and fast to play across the entire fretboard—no buzzing, just pure vintage tone.
The History of Klira
Founded in 1887, Klira was one of the "Big Three" German manufacturers alongside Höfner and Framus. Based in Bubenreuth, they were famous for their high-quality craftsmanship and adventurous designs. During the 1960s beat boom, Klira pushed boundaries with their vinyl-wrapped bodies (designed to compete with Hagström and EKO), which provided a unique look and a very resonant, punchy tone that is perfect for Garage Rock, Surf, and Indie styles.
Features & Condition
Electronics: 100% functional and recently serviced. The original pickups have that classic vintage "chime" and bite. The switches and knobs (Volume, Tone/Bass presets) work exactly as they should.
Playability: Excellent. The neck is straight, and the low action (1.9mm) is rare for a guitar of this age.
Hardware: Original vibrato system and bridge are intact and functional.
Aesthetics: The red vinyl is vibrant and in great shape.
Noted Wear: This is a vintage instrument, so there are minor signs of age. As shown in the photos, the plastic binding near the top strap pin has a small gap/crack, but it remains structurally firm and solid. Please note that the bottom strap pin is currently missing (a simple part to replace, but I have left it as found to maintain the current state).
This is a fantastic opportunity to own a unique, 1960s German-made instrument that doesn't just look cool on a stand but is fully sorted and ready for the stage or the studio.
Shipping: Professional packing guaranteed. I ship worldwide with tracking. Please message me with any questions!
