Hiwatt Filter Fuzz -  A classic British late 60's inspired Fuzz with upgraded features and curated filtering capable of everything from smooth soulful overdrive to gritty snarly explosive fuzz.

Hiwatt's master amp tech Calvin McCormick is a serious 'tone-chasing fuzz junkie'. A huge fan of the gritty raw fuzz sounds on Grand Funk Railroad albums, wrung from an inexpensive Messenger 67 Musicraft guitar with onboard Heathkit pedal, Calvin has been hunting this legendary sonic unicorn for many years. It was a lucky day when he unintentionally placed a capacitor in parallel with a resistor instead of to ground:  the unique sound created was the beginning of what would eventually become the Hiwatt Filter Fuzz.

Now in a new, board-friendly, enclosure; still proudly hand-wired in the Hiwatt UK Custom Shop.

Hiwatt Custom Shop Filter Fuzz Mk. II: 

• Volume to spare (plus some). You won't drop out of the mix when you engage this classic British fuzz pedal no matter how much gain you're using. 
• An optimized sweep to make the fuzz control usable across the entire range. A classic fuzz with less bunching of the 'Fuzz' control at the top end (no more nothing, nothing, sounds great at 10). Now roll back your guitar volume to go between OD and explosive, snarly Fuzz at the touch of your fingers. 
• Thick control allows more bass into the circuit - dial back to keep your edge on woolly humbuckers or wind it up to thicken up your single coils.  
• Curated Filtering ( roll off frequency control) for Mid Range focus and tonal options.   
  
  Filter 1: Upper mid focus to cut through the mix or slice your bandmate's heads off  - great to brighten up humbuckers or darker pickups. 
  Filter 2: Mid focused - the 'goldilocks' setting to boost without getting too harsh or brittle.
  Filter 3: Lower mid focused - fill out your single coils or add extra girth to an already thick tone. 
• Internal bias control to go between syrupy smooth classic sounds to gated velcro fuzz.
