The 470 JL is one of the most popular Collings models that we sell and for a very good reason, it's an amazingly versatile instrument.

Obvioulsy the cleans are something to die for , full and rich in the neck position with an acoutsic quality, bridge and middle add a bit more snap and when you get to the bridge pick we're suddenely in a very different world, like the best Dynasonic you ever heard with more than a little early 50's Tele there in the mix...

And then we add some gain into the mix, low gain, edge of distortion ..very sweet indeed in all posistions, crank he gain up an bit and suddenly it's not so polite, the bridge pickup absolutley roars and the neck is full and throaty. Takes pedals like a champ..what's not to like?

470 JLT The success of the Collings OM1 JL combined with Julian Lage’s love of electric guitars meant a second Collings-Julian collaboration was inevitable. The Collings 470 JL is the result of years-long conversations, engineering, testing, tweaking, playing, and listening. And then doing it all over again until it was right. From first sketches through plugging in the final prototypes, every aspect of this model inside and out is the result of a unique approach, technique, and style - both from the builder’s and player’s point of view - culminating in a one-of-a-kind electric guitar experience.
