As you can see, this Prototype is "Money Green" and finished in a Python Skin pattern. This is the only one ever made, as Vinnie and Pearl ultimately settled on a dark grey Boa Skin pattern for the production model released for sale to the general public. You can see from the drum head that this prototype had extensive play from Vinnie, who was the last person to ever play on it. I also have the dark Boa prototype avaliable for sale here along with the rest of Vinnie's snare collection and his brother Dimebag's last guitar.

This drum is not only an important piece of rock and metal history, but it is also an important part of modern drum history. This was the largest snare ever made by Pearl when it was released. It featured thicker ply and premium manufacturing that gave it a powerful sound and tone unlike anything on the market.
