About this listing
The KORG TRIDENT was released in 1980. It is an analog synthesizer with 2 VCOs, 8-note poly, 16 tone memory, and independent brass and string sections. The three sections can be stacked or split, making it a versatile synthesizer for its time. The woody body is lined with knobs, and the sophisticated design is very cool. The following is a transcription from the catalog. 8-voice polyphonic synthesizer with built-in tone memory, plus brass and strings. 3-system super polyphonic ensemble. This is a highly complete super polyphonic ensemble keyboard with an 8-voice programmable polyphonic synthesizer, plus brass and strings. The polyphonic synthesizer section can store up to 16 voices synthesized on the panel, which can be selected with a single touch as needed. Frequently used piano, electric piano, and clavi are also preset. The brass section has built-in synthesizer units such as VCF and an envelope generator, so it can be used not only for brass sounds but also for polyphonic synthesizer-like use. The string section offers a wide variety of string sounds, including bowing for bowed effects, ensemble effects, a wide range of effects such as vibrato, an equalizer for adjusting sound quality, and an attack release for controlling volume changes. The keyboard split, a feature of the Trident, splits the keyboard into two octaves for synth bass in the lower octaves and three octaves for brass and strings in the upper octaves, which is the same performance as a double manual. In addition, the flanger adds movement and depth to the sound, not only with a strong flanging effect, but also with a phase shifter effect and chorus effect. Other features include a joystick for bitch bends and vibrato control. The Trident is not only the power of several keyboards in one, but it is also fully equipped with all the features required for a live-performance keyboard, making the player's musical expression on the live stage powerful and rich.
