JL AUDIO FATHOM F112V2 – POWERED SUBWOOFER Unprecedented The challenges associated with designing high-output compact subwoofer systems can be quite daunting. In most cases, designers sacrifice low-frequency extension or output capability in order to keep the design small. The Fathom® v2 subwoofers sacrifice nothing, thanks to the dynamic advantages of their proprietary JL Audio woofers. These exceptional drivers allow for a true subwoofer passband and very high output, while keeping distortion well below audible thresholds. To extract full benefit from the excursion envelope of its woofer, each Fathom® v2 employs an exceptionally powerful switching amplifier with a large toroidal transformer and a patented circuit designed to enhance control and fidelity. The audible benefits of these advantages are truly profound, and attested to by the most respected reviewers in the audio business. "JL Audio's Fathom f113v2 is everything good from the Fathom f113 and more. DARO is a huge and needed improvement, and the backward compatibility with the v1 is appreciated. In 2006, I hadn't thought I needed a subwoofer–and certainly not two. Now, it's hard to imagine listening without at least one Fathom f113v2." – Kalman Rubinson, Stereophile, January 2016 "The JL Audio Fathom is of reference quality and a benchmark by which all other subwoofers can be judged."– Robert Harley, The Absolute Sound, March 2007 The compact design and conventional form factor of the Fathoms apply beautifully to most home theater applications, including built-in designs. Front-mounted controls make them a dream to set up and adjust, while JL Audio’s exclusive Digital Automatic Room Optimization circuit makes sure that response is smooth, even in challenging rooms. Simply put, Fathom® v2 is the compact in-room subwoofer for those who enjoy demanding program material and won’t settle for compromises. Powered Subwoofer with 12-inch Subwoofer, 1800 watts The Fathom f112v2 is a superb subwoofer solution in medium-sized rooms and is equally at home supporting a music-only system or a home theater system. The combination of an ultra-long throw W7 12-inch driver and a very powerful switching amplifier give it the kind of output normally associated with far larger subwoofer systems. Because it is built with the same driver and amplifier technology as our flagship Gotham®, the f112v2 delivers a tremendous level of sound quality. Low distortion, excellent dynamic capabilities and shockingly deep bass extension will allow you to experience all the excitement of the most demanding cinematic material, while also being able to reproduce all the nuance and texture of your most delicate musical material. A complete set of signal processing features is easily accessible on the front surface of every Fathom. These include a highly flexible low-pass filter, variable phase, switchable polarity, e.l.f. trim and our powerful Digital Automatic Room Optimization (D.A.R.O.) system. A calibrated microphone is included for the D.A.R.O. system. Input connections are made via unbalanced RCA connections or balanced Neutrik® combo XLR/TRS jacks. Also included is an XLR output to connect a second Fathom® as a slave unit.
