Before there was MIDI there was the GR-500, a guitar controlled synthesiser originally released in 1977 by Roland. Along with the futuristic looking LP style guitar controller, the synth module is a simple analogue unit featuring bass, solo synth and string sounds based off of previous Roland synths. Some cool, old school Roland faders give you control of your VCO, VCF, VCA and LFO sections and notably there is no memory to recall presets, this one's all on the fly!
The guitar controller operates the synth module using a specialised pickup system, connected via Roland's 24-pin interface, responding to CV/GATE signals from the guitar's pickups while playing. The guitar also features sustain-enhancing magnets beneath its surface and is equipped with numerous control knobs. Made in Japan.
Includes hardcase & original multi pin cable. Serviced prior to sale. Brain is 240v AU power.
