Steinberger GL4T | 1988, Newburgh, N.Y.

It's Al Cobb here. And this is my personal all-original, USA made Steinberger GL4T from 1988. I got this guitar in 2019 from a guy that kept it in his closet since the early 90's. It required some TLC, but the conditions have always been impressive for it's age. Since then, i've played with it at my house from time to time, enjoying each second of it. If you're into Steinberger, you know there's nothing above this. And if you're not, well: You're looking at single most advanced electric guitar ever.

Collectors trivia:

🔷 Below the faceplate you can find the inscription with the date (12/16/1988) and a couple more annotations from the Newburgh factory, including the name "Dennise", which by that time was in charge of the fret work station.  
🔷It includes most of the original paperwork, in amazing conditions. It even smells like an old book. Quite satisfying.

Conditions: 9/10

🔧Polished frets.They never had any wear at all, but i wanted them to shine for the feel and the looks.
🔧Cleaning and maintenance: When i first got it, the guitar was dirty and grimey. It required a complete disassembly of the Transtrem, to clean and oil each part and component separately. Same with the electronics.
🔧Transtrem setup: Transposing is accurate in each position.
🔧Body polish: In order to make it look even newer, i buffed lightly all the body + faceplate + neck. It shines almost as new, and the previous light scratches are gone.
🔧Additional details: New set of ball bearings + TT spring (HeadlessUSA), auxiliary bridge ground wire, ABS battery connector, upgraded magnetic battery cover, D'addario strap buttons.

This guitar ships fully functional, setup for E std. with D'addario .10 - .46 calibrated strings, inside it's original Steinberger gigbag. Original tools included. This is a previously used 1988 guitar. It may show signs of use on the paint, plastic parts and the hardware, being the most noticeable the scratch on the back and the abscence of one of the faceplate bolts (see pic). These signs of use do not interfere with the correct electronic and mechanical performance of the instrument. The pictures show everything that's included in the sale. It's an original Steinberger. Not much else to say. Feels incredible, looks like history and to this day, it does what no other guitar can do.
